About Us
Earl started his dog training career in 1975 shortly after leaving the army. His first pedigree Doberman was called Sorkie King Twilight who was one of the top work/obedience Dobermans in the UK at that time.
After several years of competing with him at Breed Shows, Earl realised that although he was a fantastic working dog he was not a good representative of the breed. It was at this point that Earl acquired a bitch Sorkie Draga Germania for showing and won two RCCs before deciding the Doberman as a true working dog was limited in the UK.
At about this time in 1987, Earl became a Parks Policeman with Wandsworth, an experience that opened his eyes as to 'what was required of a working dog'. His first two Police Dogs were Giant Schnauzers, but after the death of the second one, it became increasingly difficult to source another to replace him and a German Shepherd was found as a stop gap.
Within a few weeks Earl realised that he had been wasting his time with the other breeds and has been working and competing with German Shepherds ever since.
Clients and customers of VonGraf benefit from Earl's experience, passion and commitment to breeding and training security dogs to the highest possible standards.
